St. Valentine and Me

For the Valentine you sext.

Even if I spend most nights curled up with Netflix and a sketchbook, I love Valentine's Day.
I love the cards, the candy, the despicable capitalist commercialization of love– I love all of it.

And since I don't have a date this year, I made Valentines to suit a few different tastes:

For your respectfully kinky Valentine.

For my punny Valentine.

Long Distance Relationship

I've always ruled out long-distance relationships, but in approaching them again as an adult, I don't think they're half bad. Since my partner lives in a different country, I've been thinking a lot about this topic, and I figured I'd share some of my expert findings.

Typography Redux

The downside of traditional methods in design classes? No computers for a quarter and a half. I decided to revive a few old projects from my first typography course, which were originally limited to gouache on white paper. Here's the first!

It's an OAG thang...

I've started a new partnership with a social justice organization called Our American Generation.
You can check them out here: OAG.org.
It's run by the youth for the youth, and provides grants for research and a platform for expression on social justice issues. It's like that club in high school that had all the cutest boys, also.

Above is a sneak preview of their 'zine, which I have been working on re-vamping.

Branded.

It's summer, which means it's time to look for new jobs or prep for the new school year.
And that's what I've been up to. I have revised my resume and made some matching letterhead:

And (in the past few months) made some resumes for friends:

Does your resume or letterhead need a makeover? email me at sarah.hiraki@gmail.com and let's talk.
